One of the more surprisingly fun pieces of gear I've bought in a while are Teenage Engineering's Pocket Operators. I picked up the Rhythm, Sub, and Factory models shortly after they were released and have really grown to love them. As soon as I found out about the new models (Arcade, Office, and Robot), I immediately placed an order. The Pocket Operators have an awesome lofi sound and are a lot of fun to play with. I can't recommend them enough.
It's amazing how much fun is packed into these handheld masterpieces.
The Pocket Operators Meet Ableton Live
I'm always amazed at what happens when I start sampling sounds and bringing them into Ableton Live. Naturally I couldn't wait to see what I could unlock with the Pocket Operators.

I'm so pleased with the sound of the instruments. They capture a special grittiness and character that I've only ever heard in the Pocket Operators.
